DC Jammu stresses priority sector lending during DLRC meeting

JAMMU: A meeting of the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, to review the performance of banks and financial institutions in the district.

During the meeting, an improvement in the Credit Deposit Ratio (CDR) over the past quarter was noted. The DC stressed the need for further enhancement of priority sector lending and directed banks to expedite the sanctioning and disbursal of loans for government-sponsored cases.

He also underlined the importance of increasing lending in the agriculture sector, ensuring adequate financial support for farmers.

Special emphasis was placed on the ‘PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana’, with directions to organise special camps for awareness and financing of beneficiaries.

Additionally, the DC called for greater coverage under social security schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, Lead District Manager Romesh Chander, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh and representatives from various banks and concerned departments.

Potential Credit Plan for the district for 2025-26, prepared by NABARD, was also released on the occasion in presence of Director Information Nitish Rajora, AGM NABARD Jammu Sonika Rana and Manager RBI Jammu Anil Kumar, besides others.
