KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rakesh Minhas today conducted a surprise inspection of Associated Hospital of Government Medical College Kathua and took stock of the patient care facilities and services being provided to the people.
During the visit, the DC inspected Surgery OPD, Surgery Ward, Emergency, Recovery, Paediatric and Gynae wards, besides took a round of Blood-Bank, the hospital Laboratory and assessed the working of these sections. He also interacted with patients and doctors to enquire about the current patient care facilities and health scenario.
Inquiring about the maternity and child care facilities, the DC directed to encourage expecting mothers to opt for institutional delivery in the government health institutions.
The DC also enquired about the status of ongoing augmentation work of 200 bedded medical block and other facilities coming up in the hospital. He said district administration and GMC authorities will work in tandem to provide best health care to the patients by strengthening medical infrastructure and expert human resources.
The DC also took feedback on the functioning of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of the Associated Hospital and expressed hope that a workable plan will be adopted to prioritise the issues to bring qualitative change in the delivery of healthcare services.
While Interacting with Doctors and staff members, he asked them to perform their duties with utmost dedication and honesty.
Taking stock of the sanitation and hygiene, he directed the concerned to maintain sanitation protocol in premises of hospital for the safety of patients and the attendants.
Earlier, Principal, GMC Kathua Dr Surinder Attri and Medical Superintendent, Associated Hospital Kathua Dr Sangeeta apprised the DC about various issues and infrastructure gaps.
