DC inaugurates New Pediatric Ward at District Hospital Poonch

Additional facility enhances Bed Strength to 242

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary inaugurated a state-of-the-art 40-bed pediatric ward at District Hospital here today.

The newly established facility, completed under the ERCR-II project at a cost of Rs 3.92 crore, includes a 30-bed pediatric ward and a 12-bed pediatric HDU+ICU. This expansion has increased the bed strength of Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital from 200 to 242 beds, catering to the growing healthcare needs of the region.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik, Chief Medical Officer Poonch, Dr. Anees Altaf Nabi, Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Bashir Khan Khattak, Medical Superintendent of DH Poonch, Dr. Zulfkar Ahmed, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr.P.A Khan, RKS members, Surjan Singh and Adv. Iftkahr Bazmi, were also present during the inauguration ceremony.

Medical Superintendent, Zulfkar Ahmed relentless efforts and dedication were instrumental in ensuring the completion and operationalization of the new pediatric ward within a remarkably short period of one year.

Deputy Commissioner Poonch expressed his gratitude towards the medical team and staff for their tireless efforts in providing enhanced healthcare facilities to the district. He emphasized the importance of investing in pediatric healthcare infrastructure to ensure the well-being of children in the region.
