KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today inaugurated a Fossil Gallery at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kulgam.
Present on the occasion were Principal Chand Krishan and other staff members of the school besides students.
On the occasion, the school authorities informed that the gallery has unique samples of Palaeozoic era collected from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and the main aim of installation of this gallery at school level is just to enable the students to recognize the different types of fossils present in different areas in the district.
After inauguration, the DC also held interaction with the students in the school. He also hailed the efforts of Principal and Staffers for establishing the gallery in school and for working with dedication for overall development of the students.
A felicitation ceremony was also held for students who have consistently performed well at Atal Tinkering Laboratory (ATL) from past one year in the field of coding, AI, Project making etc.
During the function Arbeena Nisar, Furzana a specially abled child, and Mehky Farooq were felicitated.
