DC Gbl witnesses launching of arch truss girders on Wayil bridge

GANDERBAL: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today visited the site of Wayil Bridge where he witnessed the launching of arch truss girders.

SE, R&B department Division Ganderbal briefed the DC about the design and completion of work on the bridge. He informed that a two lane bridge is approved at the cost of Rs 23.79 crore under JTRF and after completion, the bridge will be first of its kind in the valley.

He further informed that the bridge has an arch type steel girder with well foundation design with span 110 meters and width 10.50 meters besides, length of approach roads is 330 meters.

Keeping in view the importance of this prestigious project, the DC directed the executing agency to expedite the work progress so that it gets completed within a given timeline.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC congratulated the people of Ganderbal and said that the launching of arch truss is a historic moment and to construct a permanent concrete bridge over nallah Sindh near Wayil was a long pending demand.

He also complemented the executing agency for launching arch truss girders successfully in a short period of time adding that more such unique engineering development works will be taken up in the district.
