GANDERBAL: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today inspected the progress on Transit Accommodation for Kashmiri Pandits coming up at Baba Deryadin and Wandhama, Ganderbal.
During his visit to the Transit Accommodations sites, the DC assessed the progress on works being executed there.
SE, R&B briefed the DC about progress of work on the projects and discussed the layout plan for Transit Accommodations.
During his visit to Transit Accommodation Baba Deryadin, it was informed that the project comprising 12 apartments with 192 flats having total area of 47 Kanals has been approved for an amount of Rs. 23.45 crore. Similarly, the Transit Accommodation Wandhama comprising 12 blocks with 192 flats having total area of 32 kanals has been approved for an amount of Rs 23 core.
Regarding the expenditure on Baba Deryadin project as on date, the DC was informed that work done cost is Rs 14.50 crore.
Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti was directed to identify a spot for construction of a filtration plant and Tehsildar Ganderbal was asked to demarcate the land for the same.
While visiting the Transit Accommodation Wandhama, the DC was informed that work done cost is Rs 20 crore as on date besides 64 units (flats) shall be completed ending December, 2022.
On the occasion, the DC gave necessary instructions to the concerned departments to submit DPR of additional works like compound walling, security pickets and security residence, community shopping hall, internal pathways, parking, drainage work, lighting etc. necessary for making the sites secure and long lasting.
The DC gave on spot directions for early submitting DPR of these works and exhorted upon the executing agencies to expedite the progress of work by way of engaging more men and machinery so that both the projects get completed within the stipulated time frame without compromising the quality of work.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah, SE, R&B, Executive Engineers of R&B, Jal Shakti and PDD, DySP, Tehsildar Ganderbal, Tehsildar Lar and other concerned accompanied the DC during the visit.
