GANDERBAL: In a concerted effort to enhance maternal and child health (MCH) initiatives, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Ganderbal, Dr Afroza Shah, spearheaded a one-day workshop at Town Hall Ganderbal.
The event, graced by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir as the Chief Guest, was attended by the officers and officials from the Education Department and ICDS Department of District Ganderbal under the convergence programme module.
The DC, in his address, emphasized the imperative need for seamless collaboration among all concerned departments. He urged participants to work cohesively, ensuring the effective implementation of programs such as WIFS, RBSK, AMB, and others. He stressed the importance of surpassing set targets for these programs to achieve optimal results.
CMO Ganderbal, extending a warm welcome to the chief guest and participants, highlighted the crucial roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in realizing the objectives of the Mother & Child Health programme. She underscored the significance of coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to establish a robust healthcare delivery system for the well-being of women and children in the district.
Resource persons from health department viz. Dr Adil Hassan (Consultant RMNCH), Dr Safeena Mushtaq (District Epidemiologist) and Dr Ijtaba Shafi (Nodal Officer, RBSK) spoke on the occasion and sensitized the participants via PPTs about various components of MCH programme and way ahead to work for healthy Ganderbal.
The workshop served as a platform for knowledge exchange, fostering a collaborative environment where participants gained a deeper understanding of MCH initiatives.
