RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, on Monday officially received the Shanti Yatra here at BHSS Rajouri. The momentous occasion marked the commencement of commemorations of the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Ji.
The Shanti Yatra, which was flagged off on September 9th from Poonch district, aims to celebrate the enduring legacy of Mahatma Gandhi in all schools of the Jammu division, spanning from September 9th to October 2nd. Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated on October 2nd, will be highlighted by the Shanti Yatra, a symbolic journey promoting Gandhi Ji’s message of love, peace, non-violence, and cleanliness.
This symbolic journey of peace will traverse through all ten districts of the Jammu division, The Shanti Yatra has garnered participation from a multitude of individuals, including CEO Rajouri, along with hundreds of enthusiastic attendees, who gathered at BHSS Rajouri to be part of this inspirational event.
Following its reception at BHSS Rajouri, the Shanti Yatra proceeded on its route, visiting various significant locations, including MS Muradpur, HS Dalogra, HS Dhanwan HSS chingus. Along the way, it was warmly welcomed by CEO Rajouri Sultana Kouser, dedicated staff members of Zone Rajouri, and an impressive assembly of students.
BHSS Rajouri witnessed an extraordinary turnout, with approximately a hundred staff members and more than six hundred students coming together to extend a heartfelt welcome to the Shanti Yatra. This journey of peace is set to traverse different routes, ultimately reaching Jammu on October 2nd.
Addressing the gathering, DC Rajouri Vikas Kundal emphasized the significance of the Shanti Yatra, calling upon all students and attendees to embrace the teachings and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. He stressed the importance of leading lives guided by the spirit of non-violence, echoing Gandhi Ji’s philosophy. The staff and students present eagerly awaited this momentous occasion, organized to propagate the messages of peace, love, cleanliness, and Gandhian philosophy.
