DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Harvinder Singh today reviewed progress of work on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes here at meeting held in the mini Conference Hall of the DC Office.
The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle, Chief Education Officer, Divisional Forest Officers of Bhaderwah and Batote, and Executive Engineers from the Jal Shakti and Ground Water Divisions.
Also present were the Technical Officer to SE Hydraulic, District Epidemiologist from the CMO’s Office, and AE/JE-level engineers from the Jal Shakti sector.
Senior officials from the Mechanical Division Udhampur and Ground Water Division Jammu joined virtually.
The discussions centered on the progress of laying and fitting of water pipelines, establishment of slow and rapid sand filtration plants, digging of bore wells, and providing Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs). It was informed that Division Doda has achieved a 94% installation rate, Division Gandoh 86.89%, and Division Kishtwar 91.44%.
The DC also deliberated on water scarcity issues in specific areas of the district and directed the concerned officials to devise effective solutions to tackle the problem. Detailed JE-wise progress reports were reviewed, highlighting challenges such as delays due to land disputes, forest clearance issues, and schemes withheld due to unforeseen disputes.
The DC instructed officials to expedite the resolution of land and forest-related issues and ensure the timely completion of pending projects as per prior commitments. Emphasis was laid on enhancing inter-departmental coordination for the seamless execution of schemes.
The meeting concluded with a detailed discussion on future action plans to complete JJM projects, reinforcing the district’s commitment to ensuring safe drinking water for all households. Participants pledged to overcome challenges through collective efforts and reiterated their dedication to achieving the mission’s objectives promptly.
