DODA: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, today chaired a review meeting of the Health Department at the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex, Doda. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of various health schemes, including the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), aimed at improving maternal and child health in the district.
Senior health officials attended the meeting to present the current status and challenges in implementing these schemes.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed key health indicators and directed officials to ensure efficient service delivery in a time bound manner. The Chief Medical Officer, Medical Superintendent of GMC, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and Block Medical Officers (BMOs) along with BPMUs attended the meeting.
The CMO gave brief on progress achieved on various health indicators like institutional deliveries, sex ratio at birth, number of low birth weight newborns, and progress under Janani Suraksha Karyakaram. The meeting also emphasized the need for better coordination among healthcare facilities to enhance maternal and child healthcare services.
The DC urged health officials to strengthen outreach programs to increase awareness about institutional deliveries and maternal healthcare benefits under JSY. He also stressed the importance of accurate data collection and real-time monitoring to track progress effectively. Officials were directed to address gaps in service delivery and improve healthcare infrastructure to ensure quality maternal and child care services across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed block-wise screening of all types of ailments and directed officials to ensure the proper deployment of ASHA workers for screening patients in their respective jurisdictions. He emphasized the need for proactive health interventions to detect and address health issues at an early stage.
The meeting concluded with the Deputy Commissioner instructing concerned officers to submit a detailed report on the implementation of health schemes and measures taken to enhance healthcare services in Doda.
