UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai chaired a meeting of local level committee with regard to appointment of legal guardian. One case related to legal guardianship under the National Trust Act 2021 was sanctioned by the committee.
Among others, members of committee were present Kanika Gupta, District Social Welfare Officer Udhampur, Sr. Advocate Ch. Mohd Shafi, District Health Officer, Parveen Sangral, founder Muskan NGO, Dr Roopika Jamwal.
The Deputy Commissioner passed instructions regarding extensive awareness drive for awareness of all the schemes for Disables under National Trust act.
Later, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, the Department of Social Welfare Udhampur organized an awareness camp at Senior Citizen’s Club Udhampur for Divyangjans.
Parveen Sangral, founder Muskan Foundation awared the people about Nirmaya health insurance scheme which provides benefit of upto Rs. 1 lakh to people with disabilities such a cerebral palsy, Autism, Mental retardation and multiple disabilities. She also sensitized the masses about the obligation of appointing guardians for persons suffering with disabilities as specified above.
District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta, presided over the program. She encouraged all divyangjans to avail benefit of the Nirmaya Health Insurance scheme and Legal guardianship of National Trust Act.
The audience actively took part in the program and raised various queries which were successfully answered by the chair.
Around 60-70 divyangjans along with their family members took benefit of the awareness session.
