UDHAMPUR: A meeting of the District-Level Committee for the Prime Minister’s Jan Vikas Karyakram scheme was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Council Chairperson Lal Chand and Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, here in Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to review the progress of ongoing development initiatives under PMJVK and explore potential enhancements to better support the uplift of minority communities in the district.
Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; PO Poshan Subash Dogra; Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Iqbal; District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta; Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer besides others attended the meeting.
At the outset, the District Social Welfare Officer provided a comprehensive presentation on the PMJVK scheme, including its background, objectives and scope. This scheme aims to address developmental deficits in designated minority-concentrated areas, with a strong focus on key sectors such as education, healthcare, skill development and infrastructure.
The DDC Chairperson and DC underscored the importance of fully leveraging the PMJVK scheme to benefit minority communities. They directed the District Social Welfare Officer and Chief Education Officer to re-assess current plans to ensure alignment with the goal of reaching underserved areas and meeting the unique needs of these communities. They emphasized that the proposed plans should be refined to effectively target and fulfill the specific requirements of the beneficiaries.
Sub-Divisional Magistrates were directed to conduct detailed assessments of demands from minority-concentrated areas and prioritize interventions in sectors that require urgent attention.
