BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo, today visited District Hospital (DH) Budgam to inspect its functioning, assess ongoing infrastructure development projects and review the progress of critical facilities of the health sector at the Headquarter.

During the visit, the DC inspected the status of work at the newly constructed Blood Component Separation Unit which shall play a key role in improving the delivery of health services at the district hospital.

All civil, construction works and majority of the required machinery and equipment for operationalisation of the unit has been received at the Unit. The unit now requires necessary certification and external inspection for operations.

The DC emphasized the importance of ensuring that the Blood Bank operates quickly to meet the critical healthcare needs of the residents.

He also reviewed the functioning of the Oxygen Plant at DH Budgam and interacted with the staff to assess its operational readiness.

Later, the DC visited the CMO office and inspected the progress of the under-construction Waiting Room and ramps for specially-abled patients. He also assessed the progress of upgradation and infrastructural works there.

He instructed the executing agencies to expedite the work while ensuring compliance with accessibility norms to benefit patients and attendants.

During his visit, the DC interacted with hospital staff and enquired about the availability of healthcare services, infrastructure and maintenance.

The DC said that the District Administration is committed towards improving healthcare delivery in the district and instructed the concerned departments to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects.

Senior officials, including the CPO Budgam, Chief Medical Officer Budgam, Executive Engineer R&B Budgam, hospital authorities, and other representatives from executing agencies, accompanied the DC during the inspection.
