DC B’pora holds Public Outreach programme at far flung areas of Malangam

BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed today held a Public Outreach Camp under weekly Block Diwas at Malangam here and listened to various demands and developmental aspirations of representatives as well as locals.

The DC during the camp called for synergised efforts from all officers for ensuring cent percent saturation of all government sponsored schemes.

General public and PRIs from various areas of the Aloosa Block including Quil, Malangam, Sheikhmuqam, Ashtangoo attended the programme.

People including PRIs put forth their grievances and demands regarding provision of drinking water supply, construction/ macadamization of link roads, repairs of drains, provision of electric poles and wires, installation of Transformers, lack of infrastructure in educational institutions, Aangawari centres, removal of encroachment, Sports stadium for Aloosa Block, Development of Wullar adjacent areas on tourist map and health care facilities in far-off places of Aloosa block.

After patiently listening the issues raised by the public, the DC passed on spot instructions to the concerned departments for early execution of these works and coverage of people in welfare schemes as per norms, demanded by the public during the Public darbar

Speaking on the occasion, DC said that the administration is committed to provide maximum benefits to the people. He assured that all the genuine concerns of the people will be redressed on priority.

He said that the three tier system is aimed to make panchayats self-sufficient and involve the general public in developmental plans of their concerned areas.

The DC said under NABARD District Administration has forwarded road projects at an estimated cost of 118 crores for Bandipora District

He said under JJM works worth 45 cr has been tendered which are expected to be completed during this year 

Dr.Owais said that the Administration has taken up various steps regarding the welfare of the public. He sanctioned Rs. 3 lakh to High School Malangam for taking up the basic repair works.

He said that the District Administration is working on a proper strategy to bring Aloosa block on the Tourism map to generate employment avenues for youth.

Dr. Owais, said a tourist festival in Aloosa block will be shortly held to attract tourists towards unexplored places of Aloosa Block besides other places across the district.

The programme was attended by DDC Aloosa Mewa Jan, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, BDC Aloosa, Tehsildar Bandipora/Aloosa, Ex. Engineer Jal  Shakti, besides officers and officials from other departments.
