DC Baramulla reviews progress under JJM

Directs officers to resolve any bottlenecks impeding the mission’s progress

BARAMULLA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today convened a meeting here to review the progress on various water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.

The DC was informed that under Jal Jeevan Mission major portion of the work has been completed in the district so far against the set target with regard to providing drinking water to households under Centrally Sponsored flagship programme.

The meeting also discussed various issues that are incurred in the execution of WSS projects and it was informed that significant strides are being made in expediting the completion of pending work with an effort aiming to bring about potable water at the disposal of the wider society.

Speaking on the occasion, Minga Sherpa directed the officers from various departments including revenue, forest, PHE and others to collaborate closely to resolve any existing bottlenecks in the execution of water supply schemes for achieving the ambitious goal of 100% saturation as outlined by the JJM.

Furthermore, the DC instructed the officers to conduct joint visits to the project execution sites, emphasizing the importance of on-site assessment to identify and address any challenges obstructing smooth project implementation.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina; Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina; Sub Divisional Magistrate Uri, Javed Ahmad Rather; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Arshid Ahmad Khan; DFO JV Division Baramulla, Executive Engineer JSD, Baramulla and other concerned officers.
