BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa handed-over a cheque of Rs.2.47 lakh from the Red Cross Society to the Chief Medical Officer Baramulla to provide nutritional support to tuberculosis (TB) patients under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana.
The Nikshay Poshan Yojana scheme aims to enhance the nutritional status of TB patients, aiding their recovery and overall well-being.
On the occasion, the DC also distributed nutritional baskets to two TB patients, symbolizing the administration’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive care for those battling the disease.
The event was held in the presence of the Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) and other officials.
It is pertinent to mention that the District Administration Baramulla has adopted 165 TB patients, reinforcing its proactive efforts to eradicate TB and achieve the national goal of a TB-Free India by 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, DC emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to combat TB and urged all stakeholders to actively contribute to the success of such initiatives. He reiterated the administration’s dedication to public health and welfare programs.
This initiative is a vital step towards strengthening the healthcare system in the district and ensuring better outcomes for TB patients.
