BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired a meeting today to finalize the arrangements for the Republic Day 2025 celebrations in the district.
Senior officers from the civil administration, police, education department, and other concerned agencies were present in the meeting.
The DC reviewed the arrangements in detail, including seating, heating, security and the cultural programs planned for the event. He emphasized the importance of ensuring proper seating arrangements, uninterrupted heating facilities.
The main event will be held at District Police Lines, Baramulla, where the National Flag will be hoisted and cultural programs will showcase the region’s heritage and diversity. Departments were instructed to ensure active participation of participants and local artists to add vibrancy to the celebrations.
The DC also reviewed security arrangements and directed the police to deploy adequate personnel and ensure stringent measures at all venues. Traffic management, emergency response plans, and crowd control measures were also discussed to ensure a smooth and secure event.
Additionally, the DC directed the concerned departments to ensure the availability of essential services, such as water supply, power backup and medical facilities, to address any exigencies during the program.
The meeting concluded with the DC directing all departments to work in coordination to make the Republic Day celebrations a grand success, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism.
