BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad on Sunday visited Razdan Pass to inspect clearance work of snow and landslides triggered by recent inclement weather conditions at some spots situated on higher altitudes on Bandipora-Gurez Road.
The DC was accompanied by officers from Border Road Organization (BRO), Project Beacon and other concerned officers from MED, Revenue besides others concerned.
Dr Owias expressed satisfaction over the clearance works being undertaken and applauded the untiring efforts of field staff of BEACON for working in such harsh and inclement weather conditions to ensure connectivity to Gurez Valley.
He further said that Road has been opened for two-way traffic in a regulated manner with requisite precautions and the same is being allowed after taking daily assessment of road and weather conditions.
He further appealed commuters and tourists to embark on the journey to/from Gurez only after ascertaining the status of road from the District Control Room and follow the advisories issued on a daily basis.
