BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman, chaired a District Level Standing Committee meeting at the Mini Secretariat to review the progress on pending litigation related to the encroachment of state and departmental land.
The committee discussed various cases filed before the Hon’ble High Court of J&K related to land encroachment. It was informed that there are five litigation cases related to land encroachment out of which 01 case has been disposed-off by the Hon’ble High Court and necessary responses for the remaining 04 cases stand submitted.
The DC issued directions to expedite the legal process and ensure timely follow-up on all cases to safeguard state and departmental land from encroachment. He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among different departments to resolve the issues efficiently.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Umar Shafi Pandit, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Sahabir Ahmad Wani, Chief Education Officer, DySP HQ Bandipora and Executive Engineer R&B Sumbal. District Litigation Officer, Tehsildars, ZEOs, and other concerned officials also participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
