DC Bandipora reviews MGNREGA convergence Plan for 2024-25; discusses plan for 2025-26

BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, convened a meeting on Friday to review the Convergence and Action Taken Reports (ATRs) under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for the financial year 2024-25. The meeting also deliberated on formulating the convergence plan for 2025-26.  

On the occasion, threadbare discussions were held on fostering interdepartmental collaboration and optimizing resource utilization to enhance the implementation of MGNREGA projects across the district.  

DC emphasized the importance of aligning departmental efforts to achieve tangible outcomes under MGNREGA. He stressed integrating livelihood, conservation, and developmental objectives to ensure projects address community needs while promoting sustainable development.  

The ongoing initiatives under MGNREGA for the current year were also reviewed. DC directed concerned officers to expedite pending works while maintaining quality standards.

Specific instructions were issued to ensure proper documentation and the timely submission of progress reports.  

Additionally, M.A Qadri instructed officers to draft a comprehensive convergence plan for 2025-26. He said, the plan should leverage the strengths of various departments to maximize impact and foster holistic development across the district.  

The meeting was attended by District Programme Officer (ICDS), Yaar Ali Khan,  ACD, Irfan Bahadur, Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Maqbool Lone, DFO, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, and other officers and representatives from relevant departments.
