DC Bandipora reviews Action Plan for Revival, of Ancient Cultural Heritage

BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, on Monday chaired a meeting to review the action plan for the effective implementation of the scheme aimed at the Revival, Restoration, Preservation, and Maintenance of Ancient Cultural Heritage in Bandipora.

Chief Planning Officer Bandipora Mohammad Maqbool Lone, briefed the chair on the initiatives undertaken for the revival, restoration, and preservation of the district’s architectural and cultural heritage. He highlighted the progress made so far, including the submission of 12 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) by the concerned agencies.

The DC emphasized the need to consult experts for the efficient and transparent execution of projects, ensuring that the aesthetic and historical significance of the heritage sites is preserved. 

He urged the officials from the Tourism Department to work in close coordination with the district administration, assuring full support from the administration to maximize the benefits and outcomes of the initiative.

During the meeting, the Executive Engineer R&B Gurez Division informed that sufficient funds have been allocated for the restoration of Ziyarat Shareef Baba Darvesh Rehmitulla in Dawar Gurez. He assured that the work on the site would be undertaken with utmost dedication and commitment.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt,  CEO Bandipora, Ex. Engineer R&B, Deputy Director Tourism, and other concerned officers from various departments. Additionally, Ex. Engineer Special Sub Division R&B Gurez and Ex. Engineer Sumbal participated virtually.
