Emphasizes that administration is committed to ensure door-step delivery of services
BANDIPORA: District Administration Bandipora on Wednesday organised a public darbar cum grievance redressal camp at Markundal Naidkhai area of Sumbal Subdivision to get first hand appraisal of various issues faced by local people and other adjacent areas.
The public darbar was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed, and was attended by ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, SDM Sumbal Aamir Choudhary, Exen R&B and Exen Jal Shakti Department.
The programme was also attended by DDCs, BDCs, PRIs and officers from Police and civil administration besides the general public.
On the occasion, the general public and PRIs put forth various demands relating to improvement of roads, drinking water supply, upgradation of schools, basic facilities in educational institutions, availability of teachers, transportation, health, children’s park, availability of tourist huts etc.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Owais said that holding public interaction programs enables administration to have an on spot appraisal of developmental programs besides other welfare initiatives, schemes run by various departments relating to all sectors.
Related to road construction work, Dr. Owais asked people to submit the proposal in the Gram Panchayat meetings in cooperation with PRIs, and further decisions will be taken.
The DC said construction of water supply schemes besides upgradation of water supply schemes under JJM and all other basic facilities are going on in full swing in the district for the welfare of the general public.
Dr. Owais directed health officials to ensure basic facilities in all the health institutions falling within the region, especially keeping in view the ongoing winter season.
Most of the problems were resolved on the spot, whereas for rest, concerned departments were given instructions for redressal on priority.
The DC, on the occasion, urged the public to cooperate with administration and submit all requirements pertaining to their areas in consultation with PRIs.
While ensuring proper disposal of the concerns raised by the people, the DC said that district administration is committed to the welfare of people.
