BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman on Wednesday inaugurated the first batch of training sessions under the transformative PM Vishwakarma initiative at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Bandipora.
The inaugural function was attended by ACR Bandipora Shabir Ahmad Wani, Superintendent ITI Sahil Rashid and artisans and crafts persons registered under PM Vishwakarma besides others concerned.
During the program, the DC was apprised that in the first batch of cutting and tailoring, 45 candidates are taken up for basic training of 05 days under PM Vishwakarma.
It was informed that the scheme envisages 05 days basic training and 15 days advanced training with a stipend of Rs. 500 per day and certificate after completion of training.
The DC, in his address, appreciated the female eligible artisans for their interest in capacity building programmes of the Government. He said the PM Vishwakarma scheme is meant to provide a common platform to the artisans and crafts persons.
Highlighting the benefits of PM Vishwakarma, the DC said that the scheme provides an opportunity to enhance working conditions and economic conditions of artisans and crafts persons besides providing recognition to artisans and crafts persons through PM Vishwakarma certificate.
He said the training programmes under the scheme are designed to empower individuals with practical skills and knowledge and equip the participants with the tools besides enhancing their skills and providing employment opportunities.
Rather said that this special scheme offers financial assistance along with training, advanced techniques, and skill-related guidance.
He assured support from District Administration at every stage for Vishwakarmas in addition to hand holding in market linkage.
The DC also urged all the eligible artisans and crafts persons to come forward and avail benefits under PM Vishwakarma.
ACR Shabir Ahmad Wani, on the occasion, highlighted various perspectives and objectives of PM Vishwakarma and said that the scheme is meant for Capacity Building and providing incentives to the artisans for toolkits.
He said the PM Vishwakarma scheme encourages artisans and crafts persons for training and credit support.
