GANDERBAL: Under the theme “Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir”, National Service Scheme (NSS), Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organized a Health camp for hygiene workers at varsity’s Green Campus here Tuesday.
The camp aimed to promote the health and well-being of sanitation workers and was part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
Addressing the participants, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, appreciated the work of hygiene workers and announced that more camps for sanitation workers would be organized in the near future.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, said that counselling sessions for sanitation workers would be conducted in the university.
Earlier, the health screening and counselling session was conducted by Dr. Abid, Medical Officer and his team. He also made a presentation on health and hygiene.
Health kits containing masks, sanitizer, gloves, etc were also distributed by the Vice-Chancellor among the sanitation workers.
The event was attended by Dr. Shanaz Akther, Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, Dr. Bandu Matiyal, Dr. Hilal Ahmad- NSS-POs of CUK and other teaching and non-teaching staff.
Dr. Shabir Ahmad Ahanger, NSS Programme Coordinator briefed about the activities organised by the NSS. Dr. Kaukab Azeem, Head Deptt of Physical Education, proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah, NSS PO, conducted the event.
