Chairman DLSA Kathua flags off Mobile Van for providing legal services

KATHUA: For the “Observance of Legal Services Week” launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority under the Patronage of Justice Tashi Rabstan who is also Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority and in compliance to his directions, District Legal Services Authority Kathua on Monday kick started the Campaign by flagging of a Mobile Van here from the District Court Complex.

The Mobile Van was formally flagged off by Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kathua Ashok Kumar Shavan.

The idea behind deploying Mobile Van was to give wide publicity about the legal services being provided by legal service institutions at the doorsteps of the litigants besides creating Legal Awareness among the masses in remote and backward areas of the District Kathua

After leaving the District Court Complex, the Mobile Van traversed through the interior areas and stopped at Kathua Main Market, Kalibari, Shaheedi Chowk, Shiva Nagar, PWD Colony, Govt. Hr. Sec. School (Boys) Kathua and Govt. Degree College Kathua to spread awareness about the Legal aid being provided by the  Legal Service Institutions  to the people.

The campaign was held under the supervision of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kathua Rekha Kapoor Nischal.

Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel Neeraj Kumar, Panel Advocates Mukesh Kumar Talotra,  Rameshwar Chouhan, Rajesh Kumarand, Jyoti Dwivedi acted as the resource persons in the programs held at these places. They highlighted the role of Legal Service Institution at Centre, State, District and Tehsil levels and also the category of persons who are entitled to Legal Aid.

Besides this, Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Kathua distributed pamphlets of DLSA Kathua with respect to the persons eligible for getting legal services.
