REASI: Deputy Commissioner, Babila Rakwal inaugurated a photo exhibition today on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, G20 Presidency and Mission LiFE- Conservation of Water at Government Degree College Reasi.
The 2-day long exhibition has been organised by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office, Udhampur showcasing the freedom struggle of India through a series of photo exhibits.
The exhibition aims to generate awareness among the masses regarding various initiatives and welfare programmes of the Government of India and is part of various outreach activities being organised by CBC in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
In her address, Deputy Commissioner Reasi appreciated the efforts of CBC in organising the exhibition and urged people to visit it. She also exhorted youth, especially students to visit for an insight into India’s freedom struggle. Speaking about Mission LiFE, she said that welfare schemes move in mission mode so that people can get connected with them.
Field Publicity Officer CBC Udhampur, Khursheed Yousuf gave a detailed overview of CBC’s functioning and working in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. He also briefed the audience about various outreach activities that will be organised during the event.
Kumar Gaurav from Agriculture, Ashish Sharma from Handloom and Sham Lal from Fisheries departments spoke about employment generation schemes of the government and encouraged everyone to take advantage of them.
Others present during the event included In charge Principal, Dr Samriti Agarwal, HoD Prof Anchal Sharma, officials from various departments, faculty members of GDC Reasi and students from various institutions.
During the day-long programme, an open quiz competition and cultural programmes were conducted. The programme was moderated by Prof Palvinder Kumari from GDC Reasi.
In run-up to the exhibition, CBC organised a pre-publicity programme at 126 Battalion CRPF Reasi to mobilise and raise awareness about the activities being organised by CBC during the photo exhibition. During the pre-event 2nd in Command, Tasleema Khan accompanied with Deputy Commandant, Balbir Singh and Assistant Commandant, N Sarvana presided over the function.
The exhibition is open to the public until 25th March 2023 during which people may visit it participate in an open quiz competition and enjoy cultural programmes.
