BANDIPORA: Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Bandipora, Dr. Gh Ahmad Lone, during his two-day tour to Gurez valley conducted a number of activities.
The tour commenced with a grand Mega Awareness cum Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Camp, where Dr. Mudasir Gul, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurez, graced the occasion as the special guest.
During the camp, 35 KCC cases and 35 PMSBY cases were sponsored on the spot through various banks. The attendees were informed about the ongoing schemes of the department, including Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS), Integrated Poultry Development Program (IPDP), and Holistic Agricultural Development Program (HADP).
The SDM Gurez inspected the stalls set up by Dr. Izhar-ul-Haq, Block Veterinary Officer (BVO) Gurez, and received a detailed briefing about the department’s activities.
In addition, fruitful discussions were held with the District Development Councilor (DDC) Gurez, Block Development Councilor (BDC) Gurez, and Sarpanchs to address various concerns.
Later, CAHO Bandipora, along with his team inaugurated the AI facility at the Sub Centre in Badogam. A Cryocan, along with an AI Kit, was handed over to the Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS) Badogam and his staff members.
CAHO Bandipora raised awareness among the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) members and the local community about the significance of Artificial Insemination (AI) and encouraged them to utilize the facilities provided by the Animal Husbandry Department (AHD). Detailed information about the various departmental schemes was also shared.
Furthermore, a similar AI facility was introduced in Baktore, where Dr. Khalid Hamid, in charge ABS, handed over the Cryocan and AI kit to the Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS) Baktore. The para-vet staff members were given comprehensive training on AI techniques, and the general public was enlightened about the role of AI in enhancing animal productivity.
Dr. Khalid Hamid, in charge of Animal Breeding Section (ABS), and Dr. Shahid Hassan, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS) Ajas were part of the team that visited Gurez.
