District Administration committed to boost tourism potential of the area: DDC
PULWAMA: The District Administration Pulwama today conducted a weekly Block Diwas programme at Govt High School Sangerwani under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom.
Local PRIs, respected elders and local youth delegations from village Sangerwani and other adjacent villages participated in the programme and raised their demands.
The DDC gave them patient hearing and assured that all their genuine demands shall be taken up with the relevant quarters for early redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC praised the picturesque beauty of the area and said that the area has huge tourism potential. He said the District Administration shall focus to give a boost to the tourism potential of the area.
The DDC sought commitment from the officers for fulfilling the genuine demands of the people within stipulated time. He emphasised concerned officers to ensure speedy public service delivery and carry out improvement works under various sectors to facilitate the general public.
He asked the concerned departments to raise awareness about different schemes and public welfare initiatives for the convenience of the public.
Stressing on robust development of the area, the DDC instructed concerned to ensure speedy work completion on all ongoing developmental projects including the water supply scheme which is long pending demand of the locals. He further said the demand regarding roads and bridges is under pipeline and proposals have been submitted to Govt.
Later, the DC inspected the under construction water supply scheme and Ayush Health centre.
Similarly, Block Diwas was also held at Pulwama and Tral blocks of the district, and were presided over by ADDC Dr Ab.Aziz and ADC Sajid Yehya Naqash respectively.
The Block Diwas witnessed massive participation of people to seek redressal of their grievances from the officials present.
