Bandipora admin holds training prog for coordinators for IEC campaign against drug abuse

BANDIPORA: The District Administration Bandipora on Friday organized a  training programme for coordinators designated for the IEC Campaign against drug abuse.

The programme, presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, was aimed at equipping coordinators with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively implement the campaign at the grassroot level. 

Speaking on the occasion, ADC emphasized the significance of the IEC campaign in curbing drug menace and its adverse effects on society. He urged all stakeholders to work with dedication and enthusiasm to ensure the campaign’s success in a mission mode.

ADC Zaffar Husson Shawl called for collective efforts to safeguard the youth and the community from the ill effects of drugs and stressed the importance of early intervention and prevention strategies to ensure a drug-free society.

He also stressed the importance of using a strategic communication approach to reach vulnerable sections of society.

District Information Officer (DIO), Aadil Manzoor Wani, who is also District Level Coordinator for the IEC Campaign, elaborated on the vital role of coordinators in executing awareness initiatives. 

He highlighted the activities planned under the campaign, stressing the importance of community participation and outreach in spreading awareness.

He urged coordinators to actively involve youth at panchayat level to amplify the message against drug abuse. 

On the occasion, resource person from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) Sheikh Aubaid ur Rehman briefed the participants on the use of an Android application specifically designed for uploading and monitoring IEC campaign activities, ensuring seamless reporting and transparency.

Among others the training programme was attended by designated coordinators from various  departments and other concerned.
