Ailing Nepal President Poudel being airlifted to AIIMS

NEW DELHI: Nepal President Ram Chandra Poudel is being shifted to AIIMS, Delhi, from Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, after his condition took a turnfor the worse.

President Poudel was admitted to a hospital in Maharajganj, Kathmandu, on Tuesday after fall in oxygen levels. In the medical check-up, it was found that he had an infection in his lungs.

Poudel was admitted to a hospital here for the second time within a month after he complained of shortness of breath.

“We rushed him to the hospital after his oxygen level dipped. He has been taking antibiotics for 15 days but his situation has not improved,” an adviser to the president was quoted as saying by the Kathmandu Post newspaper.
