KISHTWAR: As part of a series of farmer awareness camps, a camp was held at Panchayat Balgran in Drabshalla Block. Farmers were informed about the latest cultivation technology for Kharif crops and various schemes from the Agriculture Department to improve farming in the area.
Over 80 progressive farmers participated in the camp, where Kharif vegetable seeds were displayed for sale at a 50% subsidy rate under the Intensive Vegetable Scheme.
Farmers were advised to sow drought-resistant varieties of vegetables as they practice rainfed agriculture. They were also told about importance of nature farming, organic farming, soil health, PM-KISAN, KCC and other Agriculture Department schemes.
The camp was organised under the direction of SDAO Paddar and overall supervision of Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar.
