BANDIPORA: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Waseem Raja today chaired a meeting of officers to review the progress of Authwatto-Labkachal road.
The meeting was informed that the 14 km road shall be completed by this year, which will give a major flip to Bandipora tourism as tourists can reach Authwattoo and other areas at ease.
The ADC said the area has a huge potential for adventure tourism and most of the tourists visit for Mountaineering, Trekking, Tree Housing, Hiking, Camping besides sightseeing.
He asked the Department of Fisheries to explore the potential of fishing in the area as Authwatto Nallah- major Tributary of Madhumatti is a major reserve of trout fish and has a history of attracting even international tourists in the past. He urged the officers to revive the tourism sector in the area.
He urged officers to involve local youth in the tourism sector by improving their skills in different tourism trades to generate employment.
The meeting was attended by Project Manager Industries, Executive Engineers of PMGSY and R&B, Assistant Director Fisheries, Tourist officers and other senior officials.
