ACB holds workshop cum Seminar for officials in Ramban

RAMBAN: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Doda today organised a one day  Workshop cum Seminar on ‘Corruption Free Jammu &  Kashmir’ for officers and officials, which was presided over by  Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Sharma, ADC Harband Lal Sharma, CPO Dr. Kasturi Lal, ACR Gias-Ul-Haq, Dy. SP ACB Doda, Sagar Singh Salathia, Inspectors ACB Doda Rajinder Sharma and Shamim Ahmed besides other senior officers and officials were present in the programme.

At the outset, the participants were given a detailed PowerPoint presentation on corruption and its impacts on society.

Speaking on the occasion, the  Deputy Commissioner appreciated the Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB) for organizing a workshop cum awareness programme titled “Corruption Free Jammu & Kashmir”   at DC Office for sensitization of Government employees. 

The DC said that governance reforms are pivotal for corruption free society and various Reform measures have been taken during the recent past through technological interventions to ensure accountable, transparent and corruption free Governance Architecture so that benefits of Government schemes percolate to genuine beneficiaries and payments are transferred to vendors without any intermediary.    

The DC called upon the officers and officials to maintain integrity, transparency, accountability and justice at all levels while implementing government schemes so that people do not face any inconvenience. He urged all to work with dedication and honesty. He also highlighted the role of education in inculcating moral, ethical values so that newer generations can imbibe values of integrity.

Earlier,  the officers from the Anti-Corruption Bureau gave a detailed lecture on different aspects of ACB and the evil effects of corruption in governance. They laid stress on working in coordinated manner in fighting against the menace of corruption and highlighted the role and responsibility of the government servants in weeding out the corruption from the society.

They also sensitized the participants about the functioning of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and how to weed out Corruption from the system.

The participants were advised to follow Codal formalities religiously to avoid complaints and litigation and go for tendering only after the accord of administrative approval and technical sanctions. During the interactive session officers discussed various issues with the visiting officers.
