NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief on the demise of Ratan Tata,who passed away at the Breach Candy Hospital following age-related health conditions.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed grief, saying Ratan Tata will be known for his contribution to the economy. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said Rata Tata was a man with a vision “who has left a lasting mark on both business and philanthropy”.
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed sadness over Tata’s death, saying that in his passing away “we have lost an invaluable son of India”. Rahul Gandhi, in a post on X, said, “Ratan Tata was a man with a vision. He has left a lasting mark on both business and philanthropy. My condolences to his family and the Tata community.”
Reliance Industries’ chairman Mukesh Ambani called Tata as his “dear friend” and said the country had lost one of its most illustrious and kind-hearted sons.
Gautam Adani, chairman, of Adani Group, said India had lost a visionary who redefined modern India’s path. “Ratan Tata wasn’t just a business leader, he embodied the spirit of India with compassion and an unwavering commitment to greater good,” he said.
