DC Doda calls meeting to discuss Covid-19 preparedness

DODA: With reports of new cases of Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan called a meeting with senior officials to discuss the district’s preparedness for Covid-19.

The DC has asked people to remain vigilant and report for testing if they experience flu-like symptoms. However, he assured that there is no need for worry as no cases have been reported in the district.

The DC was apprised that the district is fully prepared to tackle any situation with more than 100% vaccination against Coronavirus. Health institutions have sufficient stock of medicines and equipment, including Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kits and oxygen generation plants at Government Medical College Doda, Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah and SDH Gandoh. The Health Department has oxygen cylinders and concentrators across the district and dedicated wards, ventilators and staff to serve Covid patients at GMC Doda.

The DC has asked the Health Department to intensify testing, especially for those with co-morbidities or old age. Officials and the public are advised to wear face masks in public places. The Education Department has been asked to conduct health checkups for children in schools. Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Tehsildars and Station House Officers (SHOs) have been asked to keep a plan of action ready in case of a surge in Covid cases.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Abdul Qayoom; Additional District Commissioner Doda, Dr RK Bharti; ADC Bhaderwah, Ch. Dilmir; Chief Planning Officer Doda, Suresh Kumar; Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Doda, Sanjeev Kumar; Head of Department Microbiology GMC Doda, Chief Medical Officer, besides other district officers and health functionaries.
