DHS Jammu Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman receives warm farewell

JAMMU: Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General Family Welfare, Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Immunisation and Director Health Services Jammu, who superannuated after rendering 33 years of glorious service in the department, was accorded a warm send-off by the staff of Directorate of Health Services Jammu today.

To bid him farewell, a function was organised in the premises of the Directorate where Deputy Director Health Services (HQ) Jammu and other officers and officials complimented Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman for his immense contribution to the Health Department.

Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman was Director General Family Welfare, MCH and Immunisation and simultaneously was assigned the charge of Director Health Services Jammu.

He started his services as Assistant Surgeon in remote areas of district Doda and served the department in various other capacities such as Medical Officer Stores at Government Medical College Jammu; Health Officer Kashmir; Assistant Director Family Welfare Kashmir; Deputy Director Health Services Kashmir and Director Health Services Kashmir. Other than the Health Department, he also served as Director General Youth Services & Sports. Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman was also President State Medical Council and Member National Medical Commission.

Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman worked with devotion and took all tasks as a challenge to accomplish successfully. He served as a beacon of light for the health fraternity and community alike. His vision of global strategy to improve health for everyone everywhere motivated and inspired all to give their best and achieve goals set by him. His integrity, honesty and perception were reflected in his work.

The staff of Directorate honoured his excellent service to the department and celebrated the legacy of hard work and commitment he left behind. The staff wished him good health and a prosperous post-retirement life and thanked him for his excellent guidance, support and cooperation.
