BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Tuesday chaired a meeting of officers to review the implementation of developmental projects under Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Plan funded by KGHEP NHPC Bandipora.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Waseem Raja, Sub Divisional Magistrate Gurez Dr Mudasir, General Manager NHPC, Tehsildars and other senior officers of the district.
The meeting discussed threadbare the developmental needs in the Snowbound Gurez valley in Education, Health, Livelihood, Skill development, Animal Husbandry and Agriculture.
DDC reviewed the implementation of several schemes including development of several roads, construction of infrastructure in several schools in Gurez and Bandipora, development of parks, beautification of towns and villages besides other developmental projects.
He directed the officers to expedite the works so that the projects can be completed soon for the welfare of the people.
He also directed the department of Education to complete works taken up under RR Plan and CSR in schools while R&B was directed to complete works taken up by them with improvement in weather conditions.
Dr Owais took the feedback about the status of various pending projects besides reviewing the staff strength in schools, availability of staff and medicine in hospitals besides other projects.
He said with the improvement in weather the working season has started and directed the executing agencies of various projects to expedite the pace of works to meet the deadlines.
Dr Owais stressed on starting skill development programmes under mission youth so that youth are equipped with skills to earn livelihood in a more dignified manner.
He also directed officers to ensure better healthcare facilities in the region besides ensuring punctuality of teachers in schools.
