Emphasizes need for smooth execution of SLUP towards achieving goals set forth in PMFME scheme

JAMMU: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Agriculture Production Department (APD), Atal Dulloo, chaired a meeting today to review the State Level Upgradation Plan (SLUP) under Prime Minister Formalization of Micro-enterprises (PMFME) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by Special Secretary, APD, Director Research SKUAST-Kashmir, Head of Department Division of Food Sciences and Technology SKUAST-K, team members of TransGraph Consulting Private Limited, Hyderabad and other concerned officials both in person and through virtual mode.

TransGraph Consulting Private Limited gave a presentation on preliminary and field surveys conducted by the consulting company in all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

The team members of TransGraph shared the results of the preliminary and field surveys conducted by TransGraph and highlighted the key findings from the survey.

The meeting was informed about the district-wise observations and suggestions thereof with regard to the PMFME scheme. The plan proposes establishment of 3895 new units or upgrading the existing units in the UT.

The meeting held threadbare discussion on agro-processing infrastructure and discussed district-wise observations and suggestions, key findings and recommendations.

Speaking on the occasion, ACS called for revision or addition in the Non-ODOP list so that some more products can be added in this category. He also asked TransGraph to formalize action plans for all 20 districts of the UT and map non-ODOP products in all these districts.

ACS emphasized the need for smooth execution of the plan and urged all stakeholders to work towards achieving the goals set forth in the scheme.

He hoped that the survey results will help in identifying the key areas that need to be addressed in order to promote the growth and formalization of micro-enterprises in the region.
