DC Ramban reviews arrangements for Navratras, Ramzan

RAMBAN:  Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, chaired a meeting with senior officers from various departments today to review arrangements for the upcoming Navratras and Ramzan festivals. 

Religious leaders attended the meeting and apprised the Deputy Commissioner of issues faced by residents in their respective areas. After hearing their concerns, the DC directed departments to ensure the availability of essential commodities at prescribed rates and in a hygienic manner during the festive month.

Executive Engineers of JPDCL and Jal Shakti were instructed to provide adequate power and water supply during Iftar and Sehri as well as at religious sites during Navratras. The DC further directed FCS&CA officials to form checking squads to monitor markets and take action against black marketeers.

The Legal Metrology Department was also instructed to conduct regular market checks during the festive season. 

In addition, the DC asked Municipal Councils of Ramban, Batote and Banihal to maintain sanitation around places of worship and congregation sites. He assured attendees that all possible assistance would be provided during the festive month.

Among those present were President Municipal Council, Sunita Sumbria, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Sudheer Kumar and Chief Medical Officer, Dr Kamal Zadu.
