JAMMU: Directorate of Economics and Statistics organized three days training programme for the District Statistics and Evaluation Officers and their field staff of Jammu division with effect from 8th of March 2023, on two Surveys i.e Employment Labour Force Survey (ELFS), Household Income Expenditure Survey (HIES) to be conducted in UT of J&K under the ongoing central sector, sub scheme “Support for Statistical Strengthening” which was inaugurated by Director General, Economics and Statistics, J&K.
These two surveys have been taken up by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, J&K for obtaining the unemployment, Income-expenditure scenario in J&K to provide the basis for effective socio-economic policy formation, so as to position the developmental efforts in more pragmatic and people oriented directions.
Director General, Economics and Statistics, J&K, Ms. Satvir Kour Sudan, in her inaugural address emphasized on importance of training programme and hoped that the field functionaries will collect reliable coherent and accurate data for making the surveys successful. Joint Director, Surveys, Mr. Ashiq Husaain Bhat, in his welcome address highlighted the importance of the surveys. The training was imparted by the Officers/Officials of Directorate of Economics & Statistics and Field Operation Division, NSO.
The training was attended by Regional Director Evaluation and Statistics, Jammu, Joint Director (Central), Deputy Director (Surveys), Assistant Director (Surveys), Assistant Director (STS), Senior Statistical Officer from NSO FOD and DSEO’s of Jammu division.
