Chairs review meeting; Assesses development projects of MC Kishtwar
KISHTWAR: Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, who is on two day tour to Kishtwar to review the status of medical facilities and infrastructure development in the district, today inaugurated various medical facilities including Eye Block, upgraded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (for Critical Gynae patients) here at District Hospital.
Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, Director Ayush, Dr. Mohan Singh, ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
Pertinently, the Eye Block houses an eye ward and operation theatre constructed under National Blindness Control Programme (NBCP).
Secretary interacted with the CMO and DH authorities and enquired about the patient care facilities being provided in the hospital.
Bhupinder directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all the patients are covered under Ayushman Bharat scheme. He urged upon them to process the case regarding introduction of DNB course in the DH. He also asked the concerned to follow up the process for procurement of Critical Care Ambulance for the DH.
Later, Secretary convened a review meeting with the district administration and President and EO Municipal Council Kishtwar besides other council ward members.
During the meeting, Bhupinder reviewed physical and financial status of mega projects and schemes under execution in the Municipal Limits of Kishtwar town.
He stressed upon the executing agencies to speed up the pace of these development works to ensure timely completion.
While taking stock of follow up of previous review meeting, Bhupinder appreciated the district administration and MC Kishtwar for notable improvement in their overall performance.
Secretary asked for implementation of digital collection of revenue across the MC Kishtwar to ensure transparency and accountability.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary said that Property Tax rolled out by the UT government is aimed to financially strengthening the ULBs and make them self reliant. He said that the Property Tax collected will be utilized by Municipal Councils for maintenance and upgradation of facilities.
