NEW DELHI: Voting for the Nagaland and Meghalaya Assembly polls began at 7 am on Monday. In Nagaland, over 13 lakh electors will decide the electoral fate of 183 candidates. The nominees are contesting in 59 out of 60 seats.
In Meghalaya, The polling in 3,419 polling stations would continue till 4 p.m. without any break. Meghalaya Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) FR Kharkongor said that a total of 369 candidates, including 36 women, are testing their electoral fortunes in the elections. In the 2018 Assembly polls, 329 candidates, including 32 women, were in the fray.
