KUPWARA: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today said that education is the only potent tool towards transforming the society besides enabling us face all impending challenges of present era.
Principal Secretary stated this while addressing a mega Education Conference, here, at Government Degree College (Boys) Kupwara, convened jointly by the district administration and Education Department, Kupwara.
Chairman, District Development Board, Irfan Sultan Panditpori, Vice Chairman DDC Board , Kupwara, Haji Farooq Mir, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray, Director School Education Kashmir, Tasaduq Hussain Mir, Principal Government Degree College Boys Kupwara, Chief Education Officer, Principals of Higher Secondary Schools, Zonal Education Officers, lecturers, renowned educationists and students from different schools attended the conference.
Dr Samoon hailed the efforts of district administration for launching the unique and innovative project of Zimadari in Kupwara.
“Zimadari” is a project of filling the infrastructural gaps in schools, uplifting the academic environment and personality development of students in rural schools. All stakeholders should work with zeal and enthusiasm for betterment of students” asserted Dr. Samoon.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner gave a detailed overview of the prestigious project ‘Zimadari’ which is the base behind holding this Education conference. He shared the success stories of Zimadari project recorded in the district.
Deputy Commissioner said “Zimadari project is an initiative which has driven systematic transformation in education sector in the district. He added that the project has been launched in the district in collaboration with Parimal Foundation. This project is successfully transforming the schools into impressive learning centers with uplift in infrastructure, creation of inspiring environs and improvement in school results.
Director Education also spoke on the occasion and hailed the concept of innovation and digitization modules for skill orientation for youth. He said Kupwara will serve as a centre of inspiration for other districts of the UT.
District Coordinator, Project Zimadari, Miss Farhin (Parimal Foundation) highlighted the importance and benefits of the initiative.
The schools which exhibited exemplary performance in different thematic areas were felicitated with mementos and trophies.
Principal Secretary, later, inspected different stalls established by the students showcasing innovative models of education.
