DC B’gam holds Public Grievance Redressal camp at Townhall Magam

BUDGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid today visited Magam Town and held a public grievances redressal camp at Townhall Magam.

DDC Chairman Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Khan; President Municipal Committee Magam, Mustafa Mir; SDM Beerwah, Taufeeq Gazi, Ward Members and officers from various departments were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, DC instructed concerned officers to submit status reports on various allotted projects including one bridge at Baba Mohalla, Kralpora WSS, construction of Culvert at Tangmarg Road, Retaining wall and other projects.

He stressed on expediting the pace of work on all ongoing projects to ensure timely completion.

As demanded by the general public, the DC directed the functioning of R&B Sub- Division from Magam instead of Tangmarg and instructed concerned to ensure strict adherence to the orders issued by higher authorities in this regard.

Emphasizing on prompt delivery of public services, the DC directed all offices to work in coordinated way for the convenience of the general public.

He asserted that works related to drainage construction, irrigation, education, health sectors, road development, street lighting, electricity and potable water supply be also paced up for better facilities to the locals.

For self-employment, the DC said that the District Administration shall conduct a special training and job fair for local unemployed youth of Magam. He said as many as 1300 youths shall be trained and given employment under various self-employment schemes in Magam.

The DC directed revenue officers to carry out an anti- encroachment drive at all identified spots for removal of encroachments.

He emphasized on maintaining proper cleanliness and sanitation in all Magam wards.

Earlier, local PRIs, senior citizens and other respected raised their demands with the DC.

After giving them patient hearing, the DC said that all genuine demands shall be taken up with the relevant quarters on priority.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DDC Budgam demanded that keeping the tourism potential of Magam into consideration, related tourist facility infrastructure be developed in the Town area.
