KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers and reviewed the functioning and implementation of various schemes of these departments.
The DC reviewed Forest, Social Welfare, Geology and Mining, SFC, ICPS, MSK, OSC and other departments and sectors.
During the meeting, the Officers from the Social Welfare department presented an overview of various welfare schemes and added that there is cent percent saturation in pension schemes.
The officers informed the chair that senior citizen clubs have been formed and old age centres have also been made functional.
DFO informed the chair that the department has distributed 815 quintals of firewood so far during this season.
He also added that the Forest Division Kulgam has started an initiative to process the timber sanctions to the forest dwellers through an online mode and they can also obtain wood sanctions by visiting the rehbarkulgam.com.
It was also given out that there are five depots of SFC in Kulgam. Besides, the Social Forest has raised fencing over 07 sites and under CAMPA 2 hectares were covered, he added.
Moreover, under Green JK drive 36000 plants were distributed among local populace to cover blank spaces in the district.
During the meeting the DC also reviewed the functioning of OSC, ICPS, MSK and other sectors.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Joint Director ZPlanning, Divisional Forest Officer S.F, Divisional Mineral Officer, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer and other Officers.
