DDC Chairman Kulgam reviews functioning of AYUSH Department

KULGAM: The District Development Council Chairperson, Mohammad Afzal Parrey today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Ayush Department in the district.

In the meeting, brief discussion was held on the functioning of Health & Wellness Centers including availability of health services, manpower etc.

District Nodal Officer Kulgam, Dr Abdul Rehman through a powerpoint presentation briefed the chair about the functioning of the department in the district.

He apprised the chair that 50 bedded Integrated Ayush Hospital is under construction at Chawalgam and has reached to the final stage of completion.

It was also shared that there are 13 Ayush and Wellness Centres in the district and the chair was also informed about the availability of staff and vacancies.

DDC chairperson and other DDC members urged the concerned to deliver and expand range of services to uncovered areas. 

He also emphasized on keeping people healthy by engaging and empowering individuals and communities to choose a healthy lifestyle.

DDC members Mohd Abas and Ghulam Mohi Ud Din were present in the meeting which was also attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Medical Officers/CHOs and other officials.
