Nayi Soch: A mega event of Women Welfare & Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan held at Bla

BARAMULLA: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women Baramulla organized a mega event of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Women Welfare Schemes in collaboration with District Administration Baramulla. 

The programme was organized in North Campus of University of Kashmir Baramulla with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar as the chief guest. 

First of its kind ‘Nayi Soch’- An initiative of awareness on women welfare schemes and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was launched by Dr Sehrish in presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Rayees Mohammad Bhat. 

On the occasion awareness was given about Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan campaign and Women Welfare schemes. 

It was given out that the initiative of Nayi Soch shall lead the whole community of Baramulla towards a new dawn. 

Director North Campus University of Kashmir, ACR B’la, Chief Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Information Officer and other Officers were present on the occasion. 

Addressing the gathering, Dr Sehrish Asgar said that the first ever initiative of Nayi Soch with a great scope will lead the whole community of Baramulla district towards a new dawn. 

Dr Sehrish briefed that Nayi Soch aims at creating a world where women in distress will be able to come out of the distressed situation by taking help of this initiative through the flashed helpline numbers. She asserted that women in distress will be given medical counseling by the One Stop Center- an affiliation of District Hub for empowerment of women. 

The DC further said that these programmes will be replicated at block level so that people are made aware about it at grassroots level. 

Dr Sehrish said that women folk represent half of the population and they should come forward to prove their mettle in various entrepreneurship programmes. 

Taking the campaign of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan ahead, Dr Sehrish refurbished the role of women in combating the menace of substance abuse and appealed people across the district to take a pledge to eradicate the menace of drug addiction. 

Speaking on the occasion SSP Baramulla said that the target population must be sensitized to check the menace of substance abuse. He asserted that all the stakeholders should take this initiative of making masses aware about drug addiction as a duty to stop our filial generation from falling prey to the substance abuse.

On the occasion, various cultural activities were performed to highlight the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
