DDC Kupwara reviews implementation of Mission Amrit Sarovars

KUPWARA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress achieved under Mission Amrit Sarovars for construction and rejuvenation of water bodies, Ponds and Storage Tanks across the district.

The meeting discussed threadbare various issues related to successful achievement of the Mission Amrit Sarovars. The DDC reviewed all aspects and received feedback from the concerned officers.

Khalid Jahangir directed officers to expedite the procedural formalities and start the execution of works without losing any time. He asked them to work on mission mode and a fixed timeline of August 15 for completion of the Amrit Sarovars.

He asked them that the Government is taking special interest in completion of all 75 Amrit Sarovars in the district and all the concerned officers are directed to take the matter as very serious and achieve the targets within the stipulated time frame.

The DDC directed for nomination of nodal officers from concerned departments for timely completion of the works.

Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, DFO Kamraj, DFO Kehmil, DFO Social Forestry, Executive Engineer I&FC, Kupwara/Handwara; Executive Engineer REW, District Soil and Water Conservation Officer and other concerned officers attend the meeting.
