BUDGAM: The Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) today organised a mega cleanliness drive at Gandtal Maloori nallah.
The drive was flagged off by Project Officer Watershed Management Division and other officers were also present in the drive.
As many as 90 students from Crescent Public School Srinagar participated in the drive and cleaned the part of this Nallah.
Addressing the school children, Project Officer elaborated the importance of keeping our nallahs particularly in the catchment area of Dal Lake in keeping our Dal Lake clean. She also requested the people there not to throw the garbage in the nallahs.
Meanwhile, training was imparted to 52 Forest Officer Trainees from Maharashtra by Project Officer regarding Dal and its management activities. The officers were made aware of the importance of the catchment area, its management, process of de-weeding and recently transplanted chinars at char chinari.
