SANJY–2022: Coordination meeting held at Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JUNE 03: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today chaired a meeting with various officials from Civil Administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, SDRF, Central Industrial Security Force and Indo Tibetan Border Police to review preparedness for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SAJY) scheduled to commence from the end of this month.

The participants discussed the Disaster Management Plan at length. Dr Singla said that the centres have been notified and adequate logistical arrangements have been put in place.

The disaster management plan and provision of sufficient disaster mitigation measures at each base/ transit camp was discussed during the meeting.

Regarding evacuation of pilgrims and service providers in case of an emergency, the DC said that preparations have been made and appropriate signages and instructions will be displayed in the camps.

There was special emphasis on the security aspects of the Yatra. The various participating agencies put forth their deployment plans. The DC called for synergy and coordination among the various agencies in order to ensure a safe and incident free Yatra. Discussions were held on allocation of space to deployed troops at various base/ transit camps in order to ensure optimum utilization of resources.

The officials from Civil Administration and Police also put forth a detailed parking and traffic management plan. The DC was informed that parking areas have been earmarked and will be geo-tagged to avoid traffic congestion due to road side parking. Further, the movement plan for vehicles ferrying passengers has been finalized to ensure smooth movement of Yatries. 

CEO PDA briefed the participants regarding preparations for opening of the track. He said the detailed inspection of the route has been carried out and the track is being made ready to facilitate convenient movement of Yatries, employees and ponies. Further, a volunteer deployment plan has also been formulated and the volunteers will supervise the implementation of the Sanitation plan and functionality of convenience enroute the Holy Cave.

The meeting was attended by DIG CRPF, SSP Anantnag, ADC, Deputy Commandant 1st RR, CEO PDA, SDM Pahalgam, SEs of R&B, Hydraulics and KPDCL, Commandants of BSF, CISF, ITBP, SDRF among others.
